the alternate ending

Brandi is singing a familiar tune while i write this letter.

Julia,

He was right. You must be listening to that song and remembering how your tear glands acted up. He was right. But i don't think you will ever tell him that. How could you? Does he even care now? MAybe. Do you still want to know if he cares. Apparently, love is not a one shot deal. OR maybe a part of you had to die in order to live again, that you had to get rid of all your tears before you could smile again? You sure did a lot of dying and crying. But do we ask your past to come back to life? I don't think so. Life is a journey. You have to keep moving. And yes, promises could be broken, and sometimes, you have to break the promise you made to yourself so you could learn to trust again.

I guess i just want to confuse you and pose this question - if he does come and knock at your door, what would you do? You must have thought about it. More than a hundred times. He said he'll remain yours. He was never yours to begin with jules. But what you felt was real. And maybe in some parallel world, you would have inspired a book, a poem .. but not in this world.

But you are smiling now and i'm happy to see that. This time around, but not with the imagined face. This is real. This is life staring at you. Neruda may be right.

Tabing ilog.

Louise.
