My high

It's not the jetski after work.
It's not the free food.
Not even frankster the yellow car.

It's hearing some of my patients say that they really want me as their primary doctor because i listen to them.

It's getting to know my patients, beyond their diseases. It's laughing with them, and holding back tears of frustration because of insurance problems, wondering why they would opt to spend billions for war and nothing for these poor people.

It's listening to their dreams.

One girl complained that she wanted to switch from her former doctor to me as even though her doctor was knowledgeable, she wasn't listening to her. I hope that meant i was listening and knowledgeable and not listening but stupid. Hmmmm. I thought i wouldn't like outpatient clinic, but i am looking forward to really talking with these patients and hopefully make a difference in their life.

They made me smile today. IT's what i came for.

This is what i love. This is what i am passionate about. This is what i plan to do for a long time.

And they pay me to do it. Not bad huh?
